The API provides a means to take advantage of Twitter's OAuth authentication technology without the cost and complexity of OAuth in your simple tweeting applications.

To use the service, there are just three simple steps:

  1. Sign In with Twitter to the site and provide some basic information about your application: Sign-Up/Sign-In Now
  2. Create a Basic Auth password for your application to use with the API: Learn more.
  3. Change your application to use instead of Learn more.

Creating your Password

The first time you sign-in to, you will need to fill out a simple form providing some basic information about your application. After you save your information, you will see a list of your Access Credentials, as shown below:

If you have not already done so, click the Activate link to create a API Password that your applications can use to access the API using HTTP Basic Authentication.

That's all there is to it. Simply point to in your application and follow the instructions in the API reference.
